Diltigesic Organogel 30gm

Diltigesic Organogel is used topically to treat anal fissures. It contains diltiazem, which helps relax the anal sphincter muscles, providing pain relief and promoting the healing of tears in the anal canal, aiding in the recovery process.

Follow these instructions while using Diltigesic Organogel:

• Make sure the anal area is clean and dry before application.

• Apply a small amount of gel externally to the affected area as directed by your doctor, usually every 12 hours.

• After applying, wash hands thoroughly to avoid spreading any potential infection.

• Remember to use the fingercot or glove provided with the product for a clean application.

• The medicine is for external use only; don't apply it inside the anus. 

• Consult your doctor for specific advice related to your condition.

Diltigesic Organogel is applied topically.

Diltigesic Organogel contains Diltiazem (2%), which works in your body as follows:

• Calcium channel blockade: Diltiazem operates by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into certain muscle cells in your body. In simpler terms, it acts as a blocker for channels that allow calcium to enter muscle cells.

• Smooth muscle relaxation: The calcium channel blockade action of diltiazem leads to a relaxation of smooth muscles in the anal sphincter. Simply put, it helps loosen tight muscles.

• Anal pressure reduction and blood flow improvement: The relaxation of muscles leads to a reduction in anal pressure and an enhancement in blood supply to the fissure site. This means that it helps reduce the tension in the area and increases blood flow to help promote healing.

• Symptomatic pain relief: The overall result of these actions is pain relief brought about by the decrease in pressure and increase in healing blood flow.

• Store Diltigesic Organogel in a cool, dry place, ideally below 30°C.

• Avoid freezing the gel.

• Ensure the tube is closed tightly immediately after each use.

• Keep it out of sight and reach of children.

• Always check the expiry date before applying.

• Increase your intake of dietary fibre and fluids to soften stools. This can help ease bowel movements, reducing strain on the anal region.

• Avoid prolonged sitting or standing to relieve pressure on the anal area. If your job requires long periods of sitting, take frequent short walks or standing breaks.
