Betnesol-N Eye/Ear Drops are used to manage the following conditions.

Uses of Betnesol-N Eye/Ear Drops 5ml are:

• Eye Infections: Manages conjunctivitis (eye redness and inflammation), blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid) and keratitis (corneal inflammation).
• Ear Infections: Treats bacterial infections and inflammation of the ear.

To use Betnesol-N Eye/ear Drops correctly, follow these steps:

• Ensure your hands are clean before handling the drops.
• Gently tilt your head back or lie down if you are putting the drops to your eyes. For ears, tilt your head so that the affected ear faces upwards.
• Carefully squeeze a few drops into the affected eye(s) or a few drops into the affected ear(s) as directed by your doctor, without touching the dropper tip to the eye or ear to avoid contamination.
• Close your eye or keep your head tilted for a few moments to allow the medicine to spread evenly.

Betnesol-N Eye/ear Drops is instilled either in the eyes or ears.

Betnesol-N Eye/ear Drops contain three active ingredients:

• Betamethasone (0.1%): This potent corticosteroid binds with cytoplasmic receptors in your body, altering gene expression. This process inhibits pro-inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes, thereby reducing inflammation, capillary dilation, and capillary permeability.
• Neomycin (0.5%): As a broad-spectrum aminoglycoside antibiotic, neomycin blocks bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit. This disrupts the genetic code reading process and hampers translation, effectively killing susceptible bacteria.
• Thiomersal (0.005%): Thiomersal is an organic mercury compound that acts as an antimicrobial preservative in this medicine formulation. It helps prevent contamination of the eye/ear drops.

• Store Betnesol-N Eye/ear Drops in a tightly closed container, at a temperature below 30°C.
• Shield the product from light to maintain its effectiveness.
• Be sure to keep it out of reach of children for safety reasons.

• If you suffer from conjunctivitis or other eye infections, try to limit your screen time. Excessive exposure to digital screens can exacerbate eye irritation and delay healing.
• For ear infections like otitis externa or otitis media, avoid swimming or taking showers without protective ear plugs, as excess water in the ear can worsen the condition.
