Betaloc H Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure in adults who need both a beta-blocker and a diuretic, or when a single blood pressure medicine has not given adequate control.

Uses of Betaloc H Tablet are:

• High Blood Pressure: Combines two medicines for more effective blood pressure control.
• Combination Therapy: Used when single-ingredient treatment is insufficient on its own.
• Dual-Action Management: Suitable for patients requiring both a diuretic and a beta-blocker.

To use Betaloc H Tablet properly, follow these steps:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew or break the tablet.

• Take the tablet at the same time each day to maintain a consistent level of the medicine in your body.

• Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly without consulting your doctor first.

Betaloc H Tablet is taken orally.

Betaloc H Tablet contains two key components:

• Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 mg): Known as a thiazide diuretic, hydrochlorothiazide works by increasing the excretion of sodium and water from your body, which consequently reduces the volume of fluid in your blood vessels and thus lowers your blood pressure. It inhibits the reabsorption of sodium in certain parts of your kidneys, leading to an increased excretion of sodium and water, along with potassium and magnesium.

• Metoprolol (50 mg): This ingredient is a selective beta-1 adrenergic antagonist or more commonly known as a beta-blocker. It blocks the action of certain chemicals in your body like epinephrine on the heart and blood vessels. This action helps reduce heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart. Metoprolol is relatively selective for beta-1 receptors which are primarily found in the heart.

• Store Betaloc H Tablet in a cool, dry area with a temperature between 20°C to 25°C.

• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and moisture.

• Keep it out of reach of children to ensure their safety.

• Always check the expiry date on the package before use; don't take it if it's expired.

• Regular physical activity can help manage high blood pressure, so try to incorporate moderate exercises like brisk walking into your routine.

• Cut back on your salt intake. Sodium can raise blood pressure, so opt for low-sodium options and limit the use of table salt.
