Betadine 5% Solution is used for managing skin infections in minor cuts, wounds, burns, and abrasions. It contains Povidone Iodine (5%), a broad-spectrum antiseptic that kills bacteria, fungi, viruses, and protozoa. Commonly applied before and after surgical procedures, injections, or venipuncture, it helps disinfect the skin and reduce the risk of infection. This solution is also effective in managing superficial skin infections like impetigo and folliculitis. Its brown colour indicates active germicidal presence. 

• Povidone Iodine (5%): Povidone Iodine is a powerful antiseptic and disinfectant agent. It works by slowly releasing iodine, which kills a wide range of microorganisms, including bacteria (both Gram-positive and Gram-negative), fungi, viruses, protozoa, and even bacterial spores. It is effective in managing infections in minor cuts, wounds, and burns, and is also used for surgical skin preparation. Unlike pure iodine, Povidone Iodine is less irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, making it suitable for repeated application.
