Aten-50 Tablet is used to manage high blood pressure, angina (heart-related chest pain) and certain irregular heart rhythms. It is a single-ingredient beta-blocker containing atenolol.
It reduces the strain on the heart and helps lower the long-term risk of heart attack and stroke. Take it at the same time each day, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause a rise in heart rate or blood pressure.
Reducing salt, staying physically active within the limits advised by your doctor, managing stress and avoiding smoking support heart health alongside this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have asthma, a slow heart rate or diabetes, as this medicine can hide the warning signs of low blood sugar, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report a very slow pulse or marked dizziness. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
