Asthalin 2 Tablet 45 is used for the following:

• Relief of bronchospasm in asthma

• Management of chronic bronchitis symptoms

• Control of breathing difficulties in emphysema

• Treatment of reversible obstructive airway diseases

• May be used in COPD management when inhaled therapy is not possible

• Supporting breathing function when inhaled therapy isn't feasible

• Additional therapy alongside inhaled medicines for airway diseases

Follow these instructions while taking Asthalin 2 Tablet 45:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Take at evenly spaced times throughout the day.

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

• This medicine works more slowly than inhalers and should not be used for sudden breathing problems.

• Keep your quick-relief inhaler available for sudden symptoms.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly for the best results.

Asthalin 2 Tablet 45 is taken orally.

Asthalin 2 Tablet 45 contains salbutamol (2 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Beta-2 receptor stimulation: Salbutamol selectively stimulates beta-2 receptors found on bronchial smooth muscle, leading to relaxation of the airways.

• Adenylate cyclase activation: By stimulating beta-2 receptors, salbutamol activates the enzyme adenylate cyclase, which increases cyclic AMP (cAMP) and protein kinase A activity in cells.

• Calcium reduction: The increased protein kinase A activity lowers intracellular calcium levels, which is essential for muscle contraction, thereby promoting relaxation of the airway muscles.

• Mast cell stabilisation: Some studies suggest that salbutamol may modestly reduce the release of mediators, such as histamine, from mast cells; however, this is not its primary therapeutic effect.

• Store Asthalin 2 Tablet 45 at room temperature in its original packaging.

• Store the medicine in a tightly sealed, light-resistant container, protected from moisture and direct sunlight.

• Store all medicines safely out of reach and sight of children.

• Check the expiry date on the pack and never use the medicine after this date.

• Follow any specific storage instructions mentioned on your product packaging.

• Avoid excess caffeine: Reduce consumption of coffee, strong tea, and energy drinks as these can worsen tremors and palpitations (rapid heartbeat) that may occur when taking salbutamol.

• Avoid smoking: Cigarette smoke irritates the airways and can worsen asthma or chronic bronchitis symptoms, reducing the effectiveness of Asthalin 2 Tablet 45.
