Armotraz Tablet 10 is a medicine used to treat hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in women who have already gone through menopause. It is used in both early-stage and advanced breast cancer where the tumour grows in response to the hormone oestrogen.
Femistra Tablet contains anastrozole, an aromatase inhibitor. It works by lowering oestrogen levels in the body, which helps slow or stop the growth of cancer cells that depend on this hormone. It is usually taken at the same time, with or without food. It is often taken for several years as advised by your doctor, even if you feel well.
Supportive care helps protect bone and heart health while you are on this medicine. This includes getting enough calcium and vitamin D through diet or supplements, doing regular weight-bearing exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, quitting smoking, and limiting alcohol. Your doctor may recommend regular bone density and cholesterol checks.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a history of osteoporosis, heart problems, raised cholesterol, severe liver disease, or are taking other medicines (including hormone replacement therapy or oestrogen-containing products, which may interfere with treatment). This medicine is not suitable for premenopausal women, pregnant women, or those breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you notice persistent joint pain, vaginal bleeding, or chest pain during treatment.
