Aprepep 125 MG Capsule is used for the following:

• Preventing chemotherapy-related nausea and vomiting

• Managing acute nausea during cancer treatment

• Preventing delayed nausea after chemotherapy

• Reducing nausea with highly emetogenic cancer medicines

• Preventing postoperative nausea and vomiting

• Supporting comprehensive antiemetic treatment plans

• Blocking substance P activity in the brain's vomiting centre

• Complementing other antiemetic medicines for better control

• Managing chemotherapy side effects in adults and adolescents

• Prevention of nausea when other medicines haven't worked

Follow these instructions while taking Aprepep 125 MG Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water.

• Avoid crushing, chewing, or opening the capsule.

• You can take this medicine with or without food.

• Follow the specific schedule provided by your doctor.

• Continue taking all other medicines prescribed in addition to Aprepep 125 MG Capsule.

• If you have difficulty swallowing, consult your doctor.

Aprepep 125 MG Capsule is taken orally.

Aprepep 125 MG Capsule contains aprepitant (125 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• NK1 receptor antagonism: Aprepitant selectively blocks neurokinin-1 (NK1) receptors in the brain. These receptors normally bind to substance P, a neurotransmitter that plays a key role in triggering nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy.

• Prevention of substance P binding: By preventing substance P from attaching to NK1 receptors, aprepitant interrupts the signalling pathway that would otherwise cause severe nausea and vomiting in the brain's vomiting centre.

• Complementary action: Aprepitant works differently from other anti-nausea medicines, making it particularly effective when combined with other antiemetic agents that target different pathways involved in nausea and vomiting.

• Extended protection: The medicine provides protection against both acute (immediate) and delayed nausea and vomiting that can occur up to several days after chemotherapy treatment.

• Store Aprepep 125 MG Capsule at room temperature.

• Keep the capsules in their original container, tightly closed and protected from moisture and direct sunlight.

• Avoid exposure to excessive heat.

• Store this medicine out of reach of children.

• Avoid using the capsules after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• Stay well-hydrated during chemotherapy and while taking Aprepep 125 MG Capsule, as proper fluid intake can help manage constipation (a common side effect) and support your overall comfort during cancer treatment.

• Consider eating smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day rather than three large meals to help manage appetite loss and reduce the feeling of fullness that may occur during chemotherapy.
