Ampiclox Capsule is used to treat bacterial infections in adults, particularly mixed infections of the chest, skin and soft tissues. It is a combination medicine containing ampicillin and cloxacillin, which belong to a class of medicines called penicillin antibiotics.
This medicine is used when the infection may include bacteria that resist simple penicillins. Take it on an empty stomach, about an hour before or two hours after food, as prescribed by your doctor, and complete the full course even if you feel better early.
Getting enough rest and fluids supports recovery while you take this medicine.
Do not take it if you are allergic to penicillin. Tell your doctor if you have had an allergy to any other antibiotic, or have kidney or liver problems, glandular fever or leukaemia, and about other medicines you take. Seek urgent help for swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing or a widespread rash, and tell your doctor about severe or bloody diarrhoea. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
