Tetracin 250 Capsule 10

Tetracin 250 Capsule 10 is used for:

• Treating certain bacterial respiratory tract infections.
• Treating skin and soft tissue infections, including acne caused by bacteria.
• Treating certain genital infections and other infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
• Treating infections spread by ticks or animals, such as rickettsial infections.
• Helping treat sexually transmitted infections like chlamydia (when appropriate).

Follow these instructions while taking Tetracin 250 Capsule 10:

• Take the capsule exactly as prescribed.
• Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water.
• Take it on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals) for best absorption.
• Avoid taking with milk, dairy products, or antacids, as they can reduce effectiveness.
• Take at the same time each day.
• Continue the full course even if you start feeling better, to ensure the infection is fully treated.

Tetracin 250 Capsule 10 is taken orally.

Tetracin 250 Capsule 10 contains the following active component:

• Tetracycline (250 mg): It is an antibiotic that stops bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow and multiply. It attaches to a specific part of the bacterial machinery (the 30S ribosomal subunit), blocking the process that adds new building blocks to bacterial proteins. By doing this, bacterial growth slows down, allowing your body’s immune system to fight off the infection more effectively.

• Store Tetracin 250 Capsule 10 at room temperature, away from heat and moisture.
• Keep in the original packaging to protect from light.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack. Expired tetracycline may cause kidney damage.

• Avoid iron, magnesium, or aluminium supplements around the same time, as they can also interfere with absorption. Separate these by at least 2–3 hours.
• Drink plenty of water to help prevent oesophageal irritation and stomach upset, which can occur if the capsule lodges in the oesophagus.
• Tetracin 250 Capsule 10 can make your skin highly sensitive to sunlight. Use sunscreen, hats, and protective clothing, and avoid prolonged sun exposure while taking this medicine.
• Maintain a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains to support immunity and recovery from infection. Avoid excessive junk food or alcohol, which may irritate the stomach or interfere with healing.
