Absenz Syrup is used for managing the following health conditions:

Absenz Syrup contains Ethosuximide (250 MG), which impacts the body through the following mechanisms:

• Modulates T-type Calcium Channels: Ethosuximide works primarily by altering the T-type calcium channels in a part of your brain known as the thalamus. By reducing the flow of calcium ions into neurons, it helps to suppress the excessive synchronized firing of neurons that leads to absence seizures.

• Enhances Inhibitory Effects of GABA: In addition, Ethosuximide may increase the inhibitory effects of the neurotransmitter GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid). Neurotransmitters are chemicals that transmit signals in the brain. GABA is a neurotransmitter that inhibits or slows down brain signals, and enhancing its effects can help control seizures.

• Modulates Sodium and Potassium Channels: Ethosuximide may also modulate the sodium and potassium channels. This contributes to its anti-seizure effects by helping to regulate electrical signals in the brain.

• Keep Absenz Syrup at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.
