Zostum-1.5 gm Injection is used for treating severe bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, septicemia, meningitis, skin and soft tissue infections, endometritis, and other infections of the genital tract. It contains Cefoperazone and Sulbactam, which work together to inhibit bacterial cell wall synthesis and protect against beta-lactamase enzymes produced by bacteria.
Zostum 1.5 gm injection combines two antibiotics, cefoperazone (1000mg) and sulbactam (500mg).
Zostum 1.5 gm Injection is typically prescribed to treat severe bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. It may be used concomitantly with other antibiotics to fight the infection. Cefoperazone and Sulbactam in Zostum 1.5 gm Injection provide broad-spectrum coverage against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including some strains resistant to other antibiotics.
