Zivast E 10 Tablet 10

Zivast E-10 Tablet is used for managing the following conditions:

• High cholesterol levels in the blood

• Primary hypercholesterolaemia: This medicine is used to decrease elevated total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, and increase HDL cholesterol

• Homozygous familial hypercholesterolaemia (HoFH): This medicine is used as an adjunct to other lipid-lowering treatments to reduce total and LDL cholesterol

• Homozygous sitosterolaemia: This medicine is used to reduce elevated sitosterol and campesterol levels

• Prevention of heart diseases, strokes, and heart attacks in people with high cholesterol who have other risk factors such as diabetes, low HDL, smoking or high blood pressure

Here's how you should take Zivast E-10 Tablet:

• Follow the dosage and timing instructions provided by your doctor precisely.

• Do not change or exceed the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.

• Consult your doctor before discontinuing the medication; do not stop taking it without their guidance.

• Adhere to the dietary recommendations given by your doctor.

Zivast E-10 Tablet is taken orally.

Zivast E-10 Tablet contains two key active ingredients:

• Atorvastatin (10 mg): This is a synthetic lipid-lowering agent that works by selectively blocking an enzyme called 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase in the body. This enzyme is responsible for producing cholesterol in the liver. By inhibiting this enzyme, atorvastatin effectively lowers plasma cholesterol and lipoprotein levels. It also increases the number of hepatic LDL receptors on the cell surface for enhanced uptake and breakdown of LDL.

• Ezetimibe (10 mg): This ingredient acts by selectively reducing the absorption of cholesterol and related phytosterols from the intestines. It works at the brush border of the small intestine and inhibits the absorption of cholesterol, leading to a decrease in the delivery of intestinal cholesterol to the liver. Consequently, there's a reduction of hepatic cholesterol stores and an increase in clearance of cholesterol from the blood.

• Keep Zivast E-10 Tablet at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Protect it from moisture to maintain its effectiveness.

• Make sure to keep the medicine out of reach of children.

• Incorporate a low-cholesterol diet into your lifestyle. This includes foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins which can help manage high cholesterol levels.
