ZINEPRA 5 Tablet 10 is used for the following:

• Prophylaxis of migraine headaches: This medication is primarily used to prevent migraine headaches, helping you to carry out your daily activities without any hindrance.
• Not for treating acute migraine attacks: It's important to note that while this medicine helps in preventing migraines, it's not recommended for relieving a migraine attack that has already started.

Here are some guidelines on how to take ZINEPRA 5 Tablet 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid crushing, breaking or chewing the tablet.
• The medicine should be taken at the same time each day, preferably at bedtime, for optimal results.
• Do not take more than the prescribed dose without consulting your doctor.
• It's crucial not to stop taking this medicine without discussing it with your doctor first.

ZINEPRA 5 Tablet 10 is taken orally.

ZINEPRA 5 Tablet 10 contains two active ingredients that work together to prevent migraine headaches:

• Flunarizine (5 mg): This ingredient blocks calcium channels in the brain. This action reduces blood vessel constriction, improves blood flow in the brain, inhibits the release of neurotransmitters that cause inflammation and pain, and prevents cortical spreading depression (CSD), a phenomenon associated with migraines.
• Propranolol (40 mg): This component works by blocking the action of stress hormones on beta receptors in your body. This reduces heart rate and blood pressure, decreases the workload on your heart, and prevents dilation of blood vessels in your brain, thereby reducing triggers for migraines.
