Xone 125mg Injection 1  is used for the management of severe systemic bacterial infections in adults and children under medical supervision.

Xone 125mg Injection 1 contains Ceftriaxone (125 mg), which works as follows:

• Inhibiting Bacterial Cell Wall Synthesis: Ceftriaxone acts by blocking the synthesis of peptidoglycan - an integral component of the bacterial cell wall. This process involves binding to and deactivating penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), enzymes found on the inner membrane of bacterial cell walls.

• Inducing Bacterial Cell Death: Proper cell wall formation is prevented once PBPs are deactivated. This leads to a weakened cell wall, causing lysis or bursting of the bacteria cells and, ultimately, their death.

• Broad Spectrum Antibiotic Action: Ceftriaxone exhibits a broad spectrum of activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It remains highly stable even in beta-lactamases (enzymes produced by some bacteria to render antibiotics ineffective).
