Xone 1g Injection is used to treat serious infections like meningitis, pneumonia, and complex UTIs. It clears bacteria from the brain, bones, joints, and blood, ensuring a thorough recovery. This medication is also administered before surgical procedures to prevent potential infections and support post-operative healing.

To administer Xone 1g Injection correctly, follow these steps:

• This medicine is administered intravenously.
• It should be reconstituted with the appropriate diluent prior to administration.
• Ensure the solution is clear after reconstitution. If it's cloudy or has visible particles, do not use it.
• Always consult your doctor for specific advice regarding its use.
• Dissolve the content in 9.6 ml Sterile water for injection for IV administration or in 3.6 ml for IM administration.

Xone 1g Injection contains ceftriaxone (1000 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Inhibits Penicillin-Binding Proteins: Ceftriaxone inactivates enzymes known as penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) that are involved in constructing bacterial cell walls.

• Prevents Cross-linkage of Peptidoglycan Chains: By inhibiting PBPs, ceftriaxone prevents the linking together of peptidoglycan chains that give strength and rigidity to bacterial cell walls.

• Causes Bacterial Cell Lysis: The prevention of peptidoglycan chain cross-linkage weakens bacterial cell walls leading to cell lysis a process where the cell wall breaks down causing death of the bacteria.

• Exhibits Stability Against Beta-Lactamases: Ceftriaxone shows high stability against beta-lactamases (enzymes produced by some bacteria to resist antibiotics), making it effective against many organisms resistant to penicillin's and some cephalosporins.

• Keep your Xone 1g Injection at controlled room temperature, ideally between 20°C to 25°C.

• Avoid exposing the vial to extreme heat, light, or moisture.

• Make sure it's kept out of reach from children.

• If you're managing a urinary tract infection with Xone 1g Injection, ensure you drink plenty of fluids. Water helps dilute your urine and ensures frequent urination, flushing bacteria out from your system.
