Xbira 500 Tablet 60 is used to treat metastatic prostate cancer.

Uses of Xbira 500 Tablet 60 are:

• Metastatic Prostate Cancer: Treats advanced prostate cancer that has spread beyond the prostate.
• Hormone-Dependent Prostate Tumours: Controls hormone-dependent prostate tumours and slows disease progression.

Follow these instructions while taking Xbira 500 Tablet 60:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Take your medicine at approximately the same time each day.

• Store the tablets in their original container with the lid tightly closed.

Xbira 500 Tablet 60 contains abiraterone acetate (500 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Inhibits CYP17 enzyme: Abiraterone acetate blocks an enzyme called CYP17 (17α-hydroxylase/C17,20-lyase) that plays a crucial role in androgen synthesis in the body.

• Reduces testosterone production: By inhibiting the CYP17 enzyme, this medicine decreases the production of testosterone and other androgens (male hormones) throughout the body, including in the testes, adrenal glands, and in the tumour tissue itself.
