Xbaren-300 SR Tablet is a medicine used to control and manage certain types of epileptic seizures, including partial seizures and generalised tonic-clonic seizures. It helps reduce seizure frequency and stabilize electrical activity in the brain.
It contains oxcarbazepine (or antiepileptic agent as prescribed). Take the tablet whole as prescribed by your doctor. Continue taking it regularly every day even when you feel fine, as sudden discontinuation can trigger breakthrough seizures or status epilepticus.
Safety precautions are vital when living with epilepsy. Avoid activities requiring high mental alertness such as driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how the medicine affects you, and ensure consistent sleep routines.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver conditions, hyponatremia (low sodium levels), or mood disorders. Inform your doctor immediately if you experience vision changes, skin rash, severe dizziness, or mood alterations.
