Vitel 40 Tablet is a medicine used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems in adults at high cardiovascular risk. It also helps protect kidney function in people with diabetes.
It contains telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker. It can be prescribed alone or alongside other blood pressure medicines. Take it with or without food as prescribed. Continue taking it regularly even if you feel fine, as high blood pressure often presents without symptoms. Stopping suddenly may cause blood pressure to rise.
Adopting healthy lifestyle habits supports blood pressure control. Recommended measures include engaging in regular exercise, maintaining a healthy weight, reducing dietary salt, and limiting alcohol intake as advised by your doctor.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, or are taking other medicines. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Your doctor may check your kidney function and potassium levels at regular intervals while you are taking this medicine.
