Vegaz OD Tablet is used to manage mild to moderate ulcerative colitis, a long-term inflammatory condition affecting the large bowel and rectum. It helps reduce inflammation in the bowel, easing symptoms such as diarrhoea, stomach pain, and rectal bleeding.
It belongs to a group of medicines called aminosalicylates. Swallow the tablet whole as prescribed and continue for the full course, even if your symptoms improve, as this helps maintain remission.
Dietary adjustments such as identifying and avoiding food triggers, eating smaller regular meals, and staying well hydrated can help manage bowel symptoms alongside this medicine. Your doctor may also advise regular monitoring of kidney function during long-term treatment.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any kidney or liver problems, or if you are allergic to aspirin or similar medicines. Tell your doctor promptly about blood in the stool, severe stomach pain, or any new or worsening symptoms. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
