Veenat 400 Tablet is a targeted anti-cancer medicine used to treat specific types of blood cancers, such as chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). It is also prescribed to manage gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST), a rare form of cancer affecting the stomach and intestines.
It contains imatinib, a protein tyrosine kinase inhibitor. Take it with a meal and a large glass of water as prescribed to reduce stomach irritation. Do not stop taking the medicine or alter your dose without consulting your oncologist, as continuous treatment is vital to control cancer progression.
General support measures include maintaining proper hydration, eating well-balanced meals, and avoiding unpasteurised foods to reduce infection risk during cancer treatment.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have kidney, liver, or heart problems, or a history of fluid retention. Tell your doctor about all existing medicines, as interactions are common. Regular blood tests, including full blood counts and liver function tests, are essential during treatment. Female patients must avoid pregnancy during therapy.
