By improving fluid drainage from the eye, it helps prevent vision loss and optic nerve damage. It is typically used once daily as prescribed by an eye specialist.

Here's how to use Travoprost Eye Drops correctly:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the eye drop container.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Hold the dropper above the eye with the tip down and squeeze out one drop into this pocket.

• Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.

• If you are using other eye medications, make sure to instil them at least 5 minutes apart to avoid diluting or washing away the previous drop.

• Contact lenses should be removed before instillation and can be reinserted 15 minutes after using Travoprost Eye Drops.

• Be careful not to touch the dropper tip to any surface, including your eye or fingers, to avoid contamination.

Travoprost Eye Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Travoprost (0.004%): It works as a selective FP prostanoid receptor agonist, helping reduce IOP by increasing the outflow of a fluid called aqueous humour through the uveoscleral pathway. This action aids in controlling fluid balance within your eyes and maintaining normal intraocular pressure.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.02%): Acting as an antimicrobial preservative, benzalkonium chloride disrupts cell membranes of microorganisms which leads to leakage of cellular contents and eventually causes cell death. This serves to prevent harmful bacteria and fungi from growing in the container of eye drops, thereby ensuring its sterility.

• Store Travoprost Eye Drops at room temperature, ideally between 15°C and 30°C.

• Protect the medicine from exposure to light and moisture.

• Keep it out of reach of children for safety.

• Ensure you use this medicine before its expiry date.

• Discard the container 4 weeks after opening, even if some solution remains.

• Regular exercise, such as walking or yoga, can help manage intraocular pressure levels linked to open-angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension.

• Opt for a diet rich in eye-friendly nutrients, like Vitamin A, C, E and zinc; foods such as carrots, spinach, oranges and almonds are beneficial.
