Travstar Pf Eye Drops 5ml are used for the following:

• Reducing elevated pressure inside the eye

• Managing open-angle glaucoma

• Treating ocular hypertension

• Lowering intraocular pressure in adults

• Providing alternative therapy for preservative-sensitive patients

• Controlling eye pressure when first-line treatments fail

• Supporting long-term eye pressure management

• Improving uveoscleral outflow of eye fluid

Follow these instructions while using Travstar Pf Eye Drops 5ml:

• Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling the drops.

• Tilt your head backwards and gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a pocket.

• Hold the dropper above your eye without touching any surface with the tip.

• Instill one drop into the affected eye(s) as directed by your doctor.

• Close your eyes gently and press the inner corner of your eye for about one minute.

• Blot any excess solution around the eye with a clean tissue.

• Wait at least five minutes before using any other eye drops.

• Store unopened drops in the refrigerator and opened bottles at room temperature.

Travstar Pf Eye Drops 5ml are instilled topically.

Travstar Pf Eye Drops 5ml contains travoprost (0.004%), which works on the eye as follows:

• Prostaglandin Receptor Binding: Travoprost binds to specific prostaglandin F (FP) receptors in the eye tissues, particularly in the ciliary muscle bundles.

• Enhanced Uveoscleral Outflow: It increases the drainage of aqueous humour (fluid inside the eye) through the uveoscleral pathway, which is one of the main drainage routes for eye fluid.

• Intraocular Pressure Reduction: By improving fluid drainage from the eye, travoprost effectively lowers the pressure inside the eye, which helps protect the optic nerve from damage.

• Rapid Onset of Action: The medicine begins working within approximately two hours after instillation, with maximum pressure-lowering effect occurring between 12 to 24 hours.

• Sustained Pressure Control: The pressure-lowering effect continues throughout the dosing interval, providing consistent control with once-daily administration.

• Store unopened Travstar Pf Eye Drops 5ml in a refrigerator.

• After opening, keep at room temperature.

• Protect from light and excessive heat; never freeze the medicine.

• Keep out of reach and sight of children.

• Discard the bottle 28 days after opening, even if the solution remains.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• If you have glaucoma or high eye pressure, maintain regular moderate exercise like walking, which may help reduce intraocular pressure (pressure inside your eyes).

• Limit caffeine intake from coffee, tea, and energy drinks as some studies suggest excessive caffeine consumption may temporarily increase eye pressure.
