Tenepride M 500 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus, a chronic condition in which the body struggles to regulate blood sugar levels. It helps control blood sugar levels, aiding in the management of diabetes.

Tenepride M Tablet contains two active ingredients: metformin hydrochloride and teneligliptin hydrobromide hydrate (equivalent to teneligliptin).

Metformin works by reducing the production of glucose in the liver and decreasing the absorption of glucose in the intestines. This helps lower blood sugar levels.

Teneligliptin inhibits the action of an enzyme called dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP-4). By inhibiting this enzyme, teneligliptin increases insulin levels and decreases glucagon levels. Insulin helps lower blood sugar levels, while glucagon raises blood sugar levels. Therefore, by inhibiting DPP-4, teneligliptin ultimately helps lower blood sugar levels.
