Sitara-PM 500 Tablet is used for the following:

• Management of blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus

• Boosting insulin sensitivity in the body

• Reducing the amount of glucose made by the liver

• Decreasing the absorption of glucose from the intestines

• Enhancing the body's natural ability to lower blood sugar

Here are the instructions for taking Sitara-PM 500 Tablet:

• Swallow this medicine whole with a glass of water during meals.

• Do not crush, cut, or chew the tablet.

Sitara-PM 500 Tablet is taken orally.

Sitara-PM 500 Tablet comprises three active ingredients:

• Sitagliptin (100 mg): Sitagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It slows the inactivation of incretin hormones, thereby increasing their bloodstream concentrations and reducing fasting and postprandial glucose concentrations in an insulin-dependent manner.

• Pioglitazone (15 mg): As a thiazolidinedione, pioglitazone enhances cellular responsiveness to insulin, increases insulin-dependent glucose disposal, and improves liver sensitivity to insulin. Unlike some other anti-diabetic medicines, it does not stimulate insulin secretion.

• Metformin (500 mg): Metformin is a biguanide, works by decreasing the amount of glucose produced by the liver and reducing the amount of glucose absorbed from the intestines. It also increases the sensitivity of your body's cells to insulin, allowing them to absorb and utilise glucose more effectively.

• Store in a tightly closed container, away from light and moisture.
