Alsita-MP 500 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults, improve glycemic control with diet and exercise, and control blood sugar levels when single-medicine therapy is insufficient.

Follow these instructions while taking Alsita-MP 500 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not split, crush or chew the tablet as this might disrupt its extended-release properties.

Alsita-MP 500 Tablet comprises three active ingredients that work together to manage blood glucose levels:

• Metformin (500 mg): This component works by reducing the amount of glucose produced by the liver, decreasing the absorption of glucose from the intestines, and increasing the utilization of glucose in peripheral tissues, thereby improving insulin sensitivity.
• Pioglitazone (15 mg): Part of the thiazolidinedione class of medicines, pioglitazone boosts the effects of insulin on skeletal muscle, adipose tissue, and the liver. This process decreases insulin resistance in the periphery and liver, resulting in improved glycemic control.
• Sitagliptin (100 mg): As a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, sitagliptin slows the inactivation of incretin hormones, increasing their concentrations in the bloodstream.
