Rejunuron Forte 1500 Injection is used to treat vitamin B12 deficiency, including megaloblastic anaemia (large, immature red blood cells) and nerve problems such as tingling, numbness and burning in the hands and feet. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing methylcobalamin 1500mcg, an active form of vitamin B12.
This medicine is used when levels need to be restored quickly or when vitamin B12 is not absorbed well from food or tablets, such as in pernicious anaemia, after stomach surgery, in some bowel conditions, or with long-term use of medicines like metformin. It is given by a healthcare professional as an injection into a muscle or vein, at the frequency your doctor decides.
Eating vitamin B12-rich foods such as dairy, eggs, fish and meat, or fortified foods for vegetarians and vegans, helps maintain levels once they are restored.
Before receiving this injection, tell your doctor about any allergy to vitamin B12 or cobalt, Leber's disease (an inherited eye condition), or kidney disease, and about other medicines you take. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor may check your blood counts and potassium in the early weeks of treating severe anaemia. Seek urgent help for breathing difficulty, swelling of the face or throat, or a widespread rash after the injection. Do not stop the treatment unless your doctor advises you to do so.
