Rabalkem IT Capsule PR is used to treat acid-related digestive conditions such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn and nausea, and is also used to ease the discomfort of functional dyspepsia.
It contains rabeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), and itopride, a prokinetic medicine. Rabeprazole reduces stomach acid, while itopride improves stomach movement. It is best taken on an empty stomach before a meal, as prescribed, and continued for the full course so that the lining has time to heal.
Alongside this medicine, eating smaller and more regular meals, avoiding spicy, fatty, or very acidic foods, not lying down soon after eating, and limiting alcohol, caffeine, and smoking can help reduce acidity.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart problems, or are taking other medicines. Long-term acid-lowering treatment can affect the absorption of certain vitamins and minerals, which your doctor can monitor. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before use.
