Pyricol Eye Drops are used in adults to treat susceptible bacterial eye infections and reduce associated redness, swelling and irritation.
It contains chloramphenicol, an antibiotic, and dexamethasone, a corticosteroid; phenylmercuric nitrate is also present as a preservative. Together, the antibiotic and corticosteroid treat susceptible bacterial eye infections and reduce inflammation. Instil the drops in the affected eye as directed by your doctor, and continue for the prescribed duration.
Wash your hands before use, and do not let the dropper tip touch your eye or any other surface. Avoid wearing contact lenses during an eye infection unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have glaucoma, a history of eye infections or are using other eye medicines. Tell your doctor if you notice worsening eye pain, changes in vision or if your symptoms do not improve.
