SS SULFA CREAM 15GM is used to:

• Treat infected burns, wounds, and ulcers
• Reduce bacterial infection in wounds and burns
• Prevent secondary infections in damaged skin
• Reduce inflammation, redness, and irritation
• Promote healing and tissue recovery

Follow these instructions while using SS SULFA CREAM 15GM:

• Apply the cream exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• Clean the wound or affected area before application.
• Apply a thin layer over the wound surface or on dressing material as advised.
• Cover with a sterile dressing if recommended.
• Wash your hands before and after application.
• Avoid contact with the eyes or mouth unless directed by a doctor.
• Remove any previously applied cream gently during dressing changes before applying a fresh layer, if advised by your doctor.

SS SULFA CREAM 15GM contains the following components:

• Chlorhexidine gluconate (0.2%): This is a broad-spectrum topical antiseptic that disrupts bacterial cell membranes, leading to leakage of cellular contents and bacterial death. It helps reduce bacterial contamination on wound surfaces and surrounding skin, lowering infection risk and supporting a cleaner healing environment. Its activity persists on the skin for some time after application, providing continued antimicrobial protection.
• Metronidazole (1%): This medicine is particularly effective against anaerobic bacteria that commonly grow in deep wounds, ulcers, and poorly oxygenated tissue. Inside susceptible microorganisms, it forms active metabolites that damage microbial DNA and inhibit nucleic acid synthesis, leading to bacterial death. This action also helps reduce foul odour sometimes associated with infected wounds and ulcers.
• Silver sulfadiazine (1%): This topical antibacterial agent releases silver ions slowly at the wound surface, which interfere with bacterial enzymes and cell membrane function, preventing bacterial growth and multiplication. It provides broad antibacterial coverage against many organisms commonly found in burns and wound infections, helping prevent infection spread and supporting safe wound healing conditions.
