PULMOSMART 400 INHALER 120MDI is used for the regular, longer-term control of asthma (in people aged 12 years and older) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), helping to keep the airways open, reduce flare-ups and improve breathing. It is not a reliever for sudden breathlessness.

Here are some steps to follow while using PULMOSMART 400 INHALER 120MDI:

• Ensure you exhale fully before placing the inhaler in your mouth.
• Press down on the inhaler to release the medication.
• Hold it for about 5 to 10 seconds before exhaling slowly.
• Take the number of puffs as suggested by a doctor.
• Rinse your mouth after each use to prevent thrush, a type of oral fungal infection.

PULMOSMART 400 INHALER 120MDI contains two active ingredients:

• Budesonide (400 mcg): As an inhaled corticosteroid, budesonide works by reducing inflammation in your lungs. It binds to glucocorticoid receptors, limiting the release of substances that cause inflammation and increasing the production of proteins that combat inflammation. This helps to reduce airway sensitivity and mucus production.
• Formoterol Fumarate (6 mcg): This ingredient is a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) that relaxes the muscles in your airways. It stimulates beta2-adrenergic receptors in the lungs, leading to an increase in a specific enzyme called adenylate cyclase. This, in turn, boosts cyclic-AMP within your cells, resulting in relaxed bronchial muscles, decreased release of allergic response mediators, and increased clearance of mucus. Together, these two components offer more effective control of asthma and COPD than either component alone.
