CompositionProvanol 20 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure, chest pain (angina) and certain irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias). It is a single-ingredient beta-blocker containing propranolol.
It is also used to prevent migraine headaches and manage essential tremors. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and continue it even if you feel well. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause your heart rate and blood pressure to rise sharply.
Cut down on salt from pickles, papad and packaged snacks, stay physically active as advised, limit alcohol and manage stress.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have asthma, a slow heart rate, or any heart or breathing problems, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report unusual tiredness, cold hands and feet, or difficulty breathing. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
