Protussa Syrup may interact with the following drugs

• Antihistamines such as cetirizine may cause an additive CNS depressant effect when taken with Protussa Syrup.
• Tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline may cause an additive effect when taken with Protussa Syrup.
• Anticholinergic drugs such as atropine can cause xerostomia, blurred vision, or constipation when taken with Protussa Syrup.
• Hypnotics such as ambien can cause sedative effects when taken with the Protussa Syrup.
• Anticonvulsants such as phenytoin can cause toxicity when taken concurrently with the Protussa Syrup.

Protussa Syrup can interact with conditions/diseases, including

• Bronchial asthma: The Protussa Syrup may cause complications in your asthma.
• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): This syrup can worsen COPD symptoms.
• Pneumonia: The Protussa Syrup may aggravate Pneumonia.
• Respiratory insufficiency: The Protussa Syrup can cause complications if you have respiratory insufficiency.
• Respiratory depression: The Protussa Syrup can cause respiratory issues in this condition.

The daily dose of Protussa Syrup should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as the age, severity of the condition and response to treatment.

In the event of an accidental overdose, whether by you or someone else, it is imperative to seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of excessive intake may include drowsiness, lethargy, nystagmus, ataxia, depression, nausea, vomiting, hyperactivity, excitation, mental confusion, tremors, psychosis, hallucinations, high fever, convulsions, restlessness, nervousness, irritability, stupor, dystonia, and respiratory depression.

If you forget to give a dose of Protussa Syrup, give it as soon as you remember. However, avoid repeating the dose.
