Protussa Syrup 60Ml

Protussa Syrup is used to relieve cough and symptoms of the common cold.

Uses of Protussa Syrup 60ml are:

• Cough Relief: Reduces coughing and loosens mucus, easing chest discomfort.
• Cold Symptoms: Soothes throat irritation, sneezing and a runny nose caused by colds or allergies.

• To ensure precise dosing, utilise a measuring cup when taking the syrup orally. Shake the syrup thoroughly before consumption.
• Protussa Syrup can be taken with or without food, but it is advisable to take it daily.
• Please be aware that this medication is sugar-based, and if you have diabetes, it is essential to consult your doctor before using it to exercise caution.

Protussa Syrup is taken orally.

The Protussa Syrup contains the following components:

• Chlorpheniramine Maleate (1mg/5ml): It is an antihistamine that blocks histamine receptors, reducing symptoms like sneezing and runny nose caused by allergies.
• Dextromethorphan (5mg/5ml): It is a cough suppressant (antitussive) that acts on the cough centre in the brain, reducing the urge to cough. If mucus is present, dextromethorphan may help to thin it, making it easier to clear from the airways.

The storage instructions for Protussa Syrup are as follows:

• Protussa Syrup should be stored at room temperature, below 25°C
• Please protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep away from children below six years.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Avoid processed or refined foods like baked goods, fried foods, white bread, white pasta, french fries, sugary desserts, and chips. Instead, opt for nutrient-rich green leafy vegetables.
• Drink plenty of fluids to prevent a dry throat and help loosen mucus. Adequate hydration can ease cough symptoms.
• Avoid citrus fruits, as they might worsen the cough. Instead, choose fruits with high water content, such as pears, watermelons, peaches, and pineapples.
