CompositionPramirol-0.25 Tablet is used to manage the motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease, such as tremors, stiffness, slow movement, and poor balance. It is also used to relieve the uncomfortable sensations and urge to move the legs that occur in restless legs syndrome (RLS).
It contains pramipexole, which belongs to a group of medicines called dopamine agonists. The dose is usually started low and increased gradually as prescribed. It may be taken with or without food. Taking it with food may help reduce the chance of stomach upset.
Staying active within safe limits and using physiotherapy and occupational therapy alongside this medicine helps support daily function in Parkinson's disease. For RLS, avoiding caffeine and alcohol in the evening may also help.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any kidney problems, low blood pressure, heart problems, or a history of gambling, compulsive behaviour, or excessive sleepiness, as pramipexole can occasionally cause impulse control problems. Tell your doctor if you experience sudden onset of sleep. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
