Ovral G Tablet may interact with the following medication:

• Anti-viral medicines like paritaprevir and ritonavir. Ritonavir may reduce the blood levels and effects of ethinyl estradiol.
• Anti-tubercular medications such as rifampicin. The concomitant use can reduce the effectiveness of this tablet.
• St. John’s wort, the herbal remedy. The concomitant use can reduce the effectiveness of this tablet.
• Another hormonal contraceptive. Your doctor may recommend a different treatment as this pill is also a contraceptive, and concomitant use can affect the effectiveness of medications.
• Antiepileptics, such as phenytoin, barbiturates, carbamazepine, felbamate, and topiramate. The concomitant use can reduce the effectiveness of this tablet.

• Grapefruit juice: Enzymes in the grapefruit juice can interfere with the medication.

• Pulmonary embolism: This tablet can increase the risk of clots, leading to pulmonary embolism.
• Heart disease: This tablet can cause an increased risk of cardiomyopathies.
• Hypertension: This tablet raises blood pressure.
• Diabetes mellitus: This tablet worsens by reducing insulin resistance.
• Liver disease: This tablet can induce cholestasis.
• Abnormal uterine bleeding: This tablet increases uterine bleeding.
• Breast cancer: This tablet can act as a catalyst for cancer growth.
