Nootropil 800 Tablet is used mainly as add-on treatment for cortical myoclonus, a condition that causes sudden, involuntary muscle jerks. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing piracetam.
It is prescribed by a neurologist along with other treatment for myoclonus. Claims that it improves memory or recovery after head injury are not well established. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, and do not stop it suddenly without medical advice.
Drinking enough water and following any rehabilitation or neurological care plan recommended by your healthcare team support treatment.
Before starting, tell your doctor about severe kidney disease, bleeding in the brain, bleeding disorders or use of blood thinners, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless your doctor advises it. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
