Neoclobenate GM 0.05/0.5/2 % Ointment 20 GM

Avsol-GM Ointment is used for managing the following conditions:

• Resistant dermatoses with secondary bacterial or fungal infection
• Inflammatory skin conditions like eczema
• Dermatitis affected by susceptible bacteria or fungi
• Psoriasis prone to secondary infections

To use Avsol-GM Ointment, follow these steps:

• Clean and dry the skin area before application.
• Apply a thin layer of the ointment to the affected areas.
• Use your fingertip or a clean cotton bud to gently spread the ointment.
• Wash your hands before and after applying, unless your hands are the treatment area.

Avsol-GM Ointment is applied topically.

Avsol-GM Ointment consists of three active components each contributing towards combating skin infections:

• Clobetasol Propionate (0.05%): This is a potent corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic (anti-itching), and vasoconstrictive (narrowing blood vessels) properties. It works by inhibiting the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation and reducing accumulation of leukocytes (white blood cells) at the affected site.
• Miconazole (2%): This component is an antifungal agent which disrupts the synthesis of fungal cell membranes. It achieves this by inhibiting an enzyme known as 14-alpha-demethylase which is vital for fungal growth and proliferation.
• Neomycin (0.5%): Classified as an aminoglycoside antibiotic, neomycin blocks bacterial protein synthesis leading to production of non-functional proteins and eventually bacterial cell death. It does so by binding to a part of the bacteria known as the 30S ribosomal subunit.

• Store Avsol-GM Ointment at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.
• Keep the ointment in a tightly closed container to protect it from excessive moisture.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
• Always keep this medicine out of the reach of children, for safety reasons.
• Ensure you use the ointment before its expiry date for maximum effectiveness.

• Wash your hands and body regularly with mild soap and water to keep the skin clean and prevent the spread of infections.
• Moisture can promote fungal growth. Ensure that affected areas are kept dry, especially in skin folds or areas prone to sweating.
• Do not share towels, razors, or personal items that come into contact with your skin to minimise the risk of spreading or acquiring infections.
