Neo-Mercazole 10 Tablet is used for the following purposes:

• Managing hyperthyroidism in adults and children

• Preparing for partial thyroidectomy, which is the surgical removal of a part of the thyroid gland

• Pre-treatment and post-treatment management of hyperthyroidism with radioactive iodine therapy

Here is how you should take Neo-Mercazole 10 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Avoid crushing or chewing it.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's nearly time for your next dose. In that case, skip the missed one.

• Always remember not to exceed your recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

Neo-Mercazole 10 Tablet is taken orally.

Neo-Mercazole 10 Tablet contains carbimazole (10 mg). It works on the body as follows:

• Conversion to Thiamazole: Once in your body, carbimazole is converted to its active form, thiamazole.

• Reduction of Thyroid Hormones: Thiamazole works by inhibiting the iodide organification and coupling processes, which are crucial for the synthesis of thyroid hormones.
