Composition

Domperidone (10 Mg) + Naproxen (500 Mg)

Napra-D Tablet is used to treat acute migraine attacks and the associated symptoms of nausea and vomiting. It contains naproxen, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that reduces pain and inflammation, and domperidone, which controls the nausea and vomiting associated with migraine. It is also used to relieve mild to moderate pain and inflammation from conditions such as arthritis or muscle strain.

Napra-D 500 Tablet is used to treat migraine attacks. It helps relieve migraine symptoms when taken at the onset of an attack. It should be taken as prescribed for best results.

Take the Napra-D 500 Tablet with one whole glass of water.
Swallow the Napra-D 500 Tablet as a whole; do not open, crush, or chew it.
Napra-D 500 Tablet is recommended to be taken after meals.

Napra-D 500 Tablet has to be taken orally.

Common side effects of Napra-D 500 Tablet include swelling of the ankles/feet, unusual tiredness, mood changes, hot flashes, confusion, headache, ringing in the ears, and changes in sight. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor for further evaluation.

Management Of Side Effects:

Most side effects are temporary and generally harmless, which resolve on discontinuing the Napra-D 500 Tablet. However, if you experience any serious side effects or worsening of any of the symptoms, please consult your doctor.

Napra-D 500 Tablet comprises the following components:

Naproxen sodium (500 mg): It is a non-selective, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent that reduces prostaglandin synthesis through inhibition of COX1 and COX2 enzymes. The COX2 enzyme is responsible for the antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory effects of naproxen.
Domperidone (10 mg): It is an anti-emetic agent that delays the gastrointestinal emptying. It is a prokinetic which shows the action by blocking dopamine receptors. The dopamine receptor blocking property is responsible for the antiemetic property of domperidone.

Pregnancy

Be cautious about the use of Napra-D 500 Tablet in pregnant women. It is not recommended to use Napra-D 500 Tablet in pregnancy. If the medicine is required to be taken, then consult your doctor before use.

Breastfeeding

It is safe to use the Napra-D 500 Tablet for breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor before use and advice.

Alcohol

It is recommended to avoid alcohol while taking this medication as consuming Napra-D 500 Tablet with alcohol can cause the risk of bleeding, ulcers, holes in the esophagus, an increase in heart rate, and dizziness.

Liver

Be cautious about the use of Napra-D 500 Tablet in persons suffering from liver diseases. Consult your doctor before using it in case you suffer from liver disease.

Kidney

Be cautious about using Napra-D 500 Tablet in persons suffering from kidney diseases. Consult your doctor before using it in case you suffer from kidney disease.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

If you are allergic to domperidone, naproxen sodium, and other constituents of Napra-D 500 Tablet, then do not use it. If you previously had an undesirable experience, do not use the Napra-D 500 Tablet.

Allergy

It is best to avoid using machines and driving as drowsiness and sleepiness may occur after intake of Napra-D 500 Tablet.

Children

Napra-D 500 Tablet is suitable for children over twelve years of age. Please consult your doctor before giving this medicine to children.

Older Patients

Use the Napra-D 500 Tablet with caution in elderly people with liver, kidney, and cardiac diseases. Dosage adjustments may be required. Your doctor will check your history of illnesses, health and current body status and prescribe it accordingly.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Napra-D 500 Tablet can interact with drugs, including:

Anticoagulants such as warfarin. The effect of warfarin may be reduced upon the use of Napra D 500 Tablet.
NSAIDs such as ketorolac. NSAIDs may interact with the Napra-D 500 Tablet and may increase the risk of side effects of the Napra-D 500 Tablet.
Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors such as ramipril. ACE inhibitors may interact with Napra-D 500 Tablet and may increase the risk of kidney injury.
Corticosteroids such as prednisolone. Corticosteroids may interact with the Napra-D 500 Tablet and increase the risk of ulceration, bleeding, and inflammation.
Aminoglycoside antibiotics such as amikacin. Aminoglycoside antibiotics may interact with Napra-D 500 Tablet and may increase the risk of kidney injury.
Antiarrhythmic medicines such as quinidine may interact with the Napra-D 500 Tablet and decrease the effect of the quinidine.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Napra-D 500 Tablet can interact with diseases, including:

Allergy: It may worsen upon the use of Napra-D 500 Tablet.
Kidney disease: It may worsen upon the use of Napra-D 500 Tablet.
Asthma: It may worsen upon the use of Napra-D 500 Tablet.
Heart disease: It may worsen upon the use of Napra-D 500 Tablet.
Liver disease: It may worsen upon the use of Napra-D 500 Tablet.

Daily Dose

The daily dose of Napra-D 500 Tablet should be taken as prescribed by your doctor. The dosage may change based on individual factors such as the severity of the condition and response to treatment. It is essential to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.

Over Dose

If you or someone else takes an excessive amount of Napra-D 500 Tablet by accident, it is essential to get immediate medical attention from your doctor or nearby hospital. The overdose symptoms for Napra-D 500 Tablet are extreme tiredness, drowsiness, stomach pain, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, sleepiness, uncontrolled eye movements, unusual movements of the tongue, and abnormal posture.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take Napra-D 500 Tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If the time for the next dosage is close, skip the missed one and resume your regular dosage pattern. Only increase your dosage after consulting your doctor.

Store Napra-D 500 Tablet at room temperature between 15-25ºC.
Protect Napra-D 500 Tablet from light and moisture.
Keep Napra-D 500 Tablet away from children.
Do not use the Napra-D 500 Tablet after the expiry date has passed.

Avoid skipping meals, as irregular eating patterns can contribute to migraines.
Practice stress-relief techniques like meditation, yoga, deep breathing, and mindfulness to reduce migraine triggers.
Try sleeping in a dark room during the migraine episodes.
Maintain a consistent sleep schedule and ensure you get enough restorative sleep each night.
Engage in regular physical activity, but avoid excessive exertion, especially during a migraine attack.
Apply a cold compress or ice pack to your forehead for about 15 minutes to ease pain and reduce blood vessel dilation.
Apply gentle pressure to specific points on your head, neck, and shoulders that are known to relieve headaches and migraine pain.
