Moxiflotas Infusion is used to treat serious bacterial infections, including pneumonia acquired outside hospital, complicated skin infections, complicated infections within the abdomen and acute bacterial sinusitis. It contains moxifloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that helps clear infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
This medicine is given as a slow infusion into a vein by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic. It is important to complete the full course as advised by your care team, even if you begin to feel better, since stopping early may allow the infection to return.
Since this is a hospital-administered antibiotic, your care team will monitor you, including your heart rhythm, during treatment. Staying well hydrated and following any dietary advice given by your care team can support your recovery.
Before starting treatment, tell your doctor if you have any heart rhythm problems, a history of tendon disorders, epilepsy, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Report any irregular heartbeat, tendon pain or swelling, or signs of an allergic reaction such as rash or difficulty breathing to your care team right away.
