Minilactone Tablet is used to manage fluid retention (oedema) caused by conditions such as congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis and nephrotic syndrome. It is a combination diuretic medicine containing furosemide (a loop diuretic) and spironolactone (a potassium-sparing diuretic).
It is also used to help control high blood pressure. Take it, generally in the morning, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop it suddenly without medical advice, as this may raise blood pressure.
Limit salt in your diet (pickles, papad, packaged snacks), weigh yourself regularly to monitor fluid changes, and attend all follow-up blood test appointments.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or difficulty passing urine and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Report muscle weakness, severe dizziness or signs of dehydration, such as a dry mouth and reduced urination, to your doctor promptly. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
