Migrafen Tablet is designed to provide relief from migraine headaches. It works by alleviating pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound, which are common symptoms associated with migraines. By taking the tablet early in the onset of a migraine, individuals can experience faster and more effective relief. It helps reduce the severity and duration of migraine attacks, making it an essential option for those suffering from recurrent migraines, allowing them to maintain daily activities with reduced disruption from debilitating headaches.

When using Migrafen Tablet, remember the following instructions:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Avoid breaking, crushing or chewing the tablet.

• The tablet can be taken with or without food.

• Always take this medicine as per your doctor's advice. Do not adjust the dose yourself.

Migrafen Tablet is taken orally.

Migrafen Tablet consists of four active ingredients which work together to manage migraine symptoms:

• Ergotamine (1 mg): An ergot alkaloid that acts as a vasoconstrictor, particularly on the cranial blood vessels. By narrowing the dilated blood vessels that contribute to migraine pain, ergotamine helps reduce inflammation and pain signalling.

• Caffeine (100 mg): This is a central nervous system stimulant that promotes vasoconstriction, or the narrowing of blood vessels. This can help alleviate the pain and throbbing associated with migraines. It also enhances the pain-relieving effects of the other ingredients in the tablet.

• Paracetamol/Acetaminophen (250 mg): This well-known pain reliever and fever reducer works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins, chemicals that cause inflammation, pain, and fever. Paracetamol enhances the pain-relieving action of the tablet.

• Prochlorperazine (2.5 mg): A phenothiazine antiemetic that acts on the chemoreceptor trigger zone in the brain to reduce nausea and vomiting often associated with migraines. It also has some analgesic properties that contribute to pain relief.

• Store Migrafen Tablet in a cool place, ideally below 30°C.

• The container should be tightly closed and shielded from light and dampness.

• As with all medicines, keep it out of children's reach.

• Always check the expiry date before use.

• Staying hydrated can help manage migraines better. Try drinking around eight glasses of water per day.

• Avoid triggers that could potentially set off a migraine attack. This could include certain foods, caffeine, or even stress. Take time to identify your individual triggers and avoid them where possible.
