Migrabeta Tr 20 Tablet 10 is used to prevent migraine headaches. It is a single-ingredient medicine containing propranolol, a non-selective beta-blocker.

This medicine helps reduce the frequency and severity of migraine headaches. It also helps manage high blood pressure. In addition, it helps reduce physical symptoms such as shakiness linked to anxiety.

Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor about any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, and all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Ask your doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Report any persistent or serious side effects to your doctor. Do not stop this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.

Migrabeta Tr 20 Tablet 10 is used to prevent migraine headaches.

Uses of Migrabeta Tr 20 Tablet 10 are:

Migraine Prevention: Helps reduce the frequency and severity of migraine headaches.
Hypertension: Helps manage high blood pressure.
Tremor and Anxiety Symptoms: Helps reduce physical symptoms such as shakiness linked to anxiety.

Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water.
Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
Do not change your tablet dose or take them more often than prescribed.

Migrabeta-TR 20 Tablet should be taken orally.

Migrabeta Tr 20 Tablet 10 may cause some side effects that are usually mild and go away as your body adjusts to the medicine.

A few common side effects of Migrabeta Tr 20 Tablet 10:

Digestive: Nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
Nervous system: Dizziness, tiredness and headache.
Other: A slow heartbeat and cold hands or feet.

If any side effect does not improve or becomes serious, speak to your doctor. Do not stop taking the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.

Management Of Side Effects:

Most of the side effects resolve on discontinuing the tablet and are temporary and, do not require medical attention. If you experience disturbed sleep patterns after taking this tablet, discuss the dosage timing with your doctor. If you experience severe or persistent side effects from this tablet, consult your doctor.

Migrabeta-TR 20 Tablet contains the following component:

Propranolol Hydrochloride (20 mg): It is a beta-blocker that blocks beta-1 and beta-2 adrenergic stimulation in the heart induced by substances like epinephrine and norepinephrine. The blockage of these receptors results in a decreased workload on the heart, reducing oxygen demand and myocardial remodelling.

Pregnancy

This tablet should not be taken during pregnancy until prescribed by a doctor. Inform your doctor while this tablet is prescribed to you during pregnancy.

Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding women should exercise caution while taking this tablet. It can pass into the breastfeeding infant through breast milk. Before taking this tablet while breastfeeding, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

Alcohol

Alcohol is not recommended while taking Migrabeta-TR 20 Tablet. It can increase the blood levels of this tablet.

Liver

Patients with liver cirrhosis or other severe liver disease should cautiously take Migrabeta-TR 20 Tablet. Initial dose adjustments may be required in such patients. If you have a severe liver problem, inform your doctor before taking this tablet.

Kidney

Caution is advised in patients with kidney impairment while taking Migrabeta-TR 20 Tablet. Dose adjustments may be required. If you have severe kidney disease, it's better to inform your doctor before this tablet is prescribed to you.

Use In Driving And Operating Machinery

This tablet will unlikely affect your mental or physical abilities to operate machinery or drive. Still, avoiding attentive tasks is recommended if you experience drowsiness and fatigue after taking this tablet.

Allergy

Do not take this tablet if you are allergic to propranolol or any other ingredient in this tablet. Read the label and check the ingredients before taking this medicine to avoid allergic reactions.

Children

Migrabeta-TR 20 Tablet is not intended for children.

Older Patients

Older patients with kidney, liver, and heart problems should take this tablet cautiously. Dose adjustment may be required in such patients. They might also take other medications that can interact with Migrabeta-TR 20 Tablet. Consult your doctor and discuss your prescription medications before taking this medicine.

Drug-Drug Interactions

Migrabeta-TR 20 Tablet can interact with medications, including:

Antihypertensives such as clonidine. This tablet can counteract the blood pressure-lowering effects of antihypertensives.
Antipsychotic medications such as chlorpromazine and thioridazine. Combining this tablet and antipsychotic medications can increase levels of this tablet in the blood, potentially enhancing their effects.
Antiarrhythmics such as disopyramide, lidocaine, and quinidine. The concomitant use can inhibit the effect of antiarrhythmics.
Bronchodilators such as theophylline. The blood levels of this tablet may be increased on the concomitant use.
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as ibuprofen and indomethacin. The concomitant use can reduce the antihypertensive effect of this tablet.

Drug-Disease Interactions

Migrabeta-TR 20 Tablet can interact with diseases, including:

Diabetes: This tablet may alter your normal response to low blood sugar.
Angina (chest pain) and other heart problems: The abrupt discontinuation of this tablet may worsen angina. Your doctor might advise you to decrease the dosage gradually over a few weeks.
Thyrotoxicosis (high levels of thyroid hormones): This tablet may hide the symptoms of thyrotoxicosis.
Bronchial asthma: This tablet may worsen the existing condition.
Cardiogenic shock: This tablet is contraindicated in case of cardiogenic shock.
Sinus bradycardia (slow heart rate): This tablet may cause a slow heartbeat as a side effect and exacerbate the existing condition.

Daily Dose

Take the daily dose of this tablet as your doctor prescribes. The dosage may change based on the severity of the condition and response to treatment. It is important to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it without consulting your doctor.

Over Dose

If you take an excessive dosage of this tablet by accident, it is essential to get immediate medical attention from your doctor or nearby hospital. Symptoms of an overdose include slow heart rate, irregular heart rhythm, hypotension, and bronchospasm.

Missed Dose

If you forget to take this tablet, take it as soon as you remember. If the time for the next dosage is close, it is recommended to skip the missed one now and resume your regular dosage pattern. Never increase your dosage without consulting your doctor.

Store this medicine at room temperature below 30ºC.
Protect it from light.
Keep this tablet away from children.

Adopt a low-sodium (salt) diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins to manage hypertension.
Quit smoking, exercise regularly, monitor blood pressure and cholesterol levels, and adhere to prescribed medication.
