CompositionMeva-C Capsule is used to treat the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), such as sharp abdominal cramps, persistent bloating, and alternating bouts of loose motions (diarrhoea) and constipation. It also helps calm the 'nervous stomach' often associated with IBS flare-ups.
It contains mebeverine, an antispasmodic that relaxes the muscles of the intestine to stop painful cramping, and chlordiazepoxide, a low-dose sedative that helps reduce the stress and anxiety that frequently trigger or worsen IBS symptoms. This capsule is usually taken 20 minutes before meals, as prescribed by your doctor.
Eating smaller, regular meals, reducing caffeine and fizzy drinks, and managing stress through relaxation techniques can help ease IBS symptoms alongside this medicine.
Because it contains a mild sedative, it may cause drowsiness; avoid alcohol while taking this medicine. Tell your doctor if you have a history of glaucoma. This medicine is generally intended for short-term use during symptom flare-ups.
