Meditrex 20 Tablet 4 is used for the following:

• Treating various types of cancer

• Managing rheumatoid arthritis

• Controlling severe psoriasis

• Slowing down the progression of joint damage

• Suppressing overactive immune system responses

• Modifying autoimmune disease progression

• Managing excessive skin cell production

• Maintaining remission in inflammatory bowel conditions

Follow these instructions while taking Meditrex 20 Tablet 4:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water.

• Take this medicine at the same time as prescribed.

• You can take it with or without food, but be consistent with timing.

Meditrex 20 Tablet 4 contains methotrexate (20 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Dihydrofolate reductase inhibition: Methotrexate blocks the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, which is essential for producing tetrahydrofolate, a substance necessary for DNA and RNA synthesis.

• Cell division prevention: By interfering with DNA and RNA production, methotrexate prevents cells from dividing and multiplying, particularly affecting rapidly dividing cells like cancer cells.

• Immune system modulation: In autoimmune conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis, methotrexate suppresses overactive immune responses by affecting lymphocyte (a type of white blood cell) proliferation.

• Anti-inflammatory action: The medicine reduces inflammation by decreasing the production of cytokines, proteins that trigger and maintain inflammatory processes in the body.

• Store Meditrex 20 Tablet 4 at room temperature.

• Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Maintain the medicine in its original packaging until use.

• Keep all medicines out of reach of children.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Avoid crowded places and contact with sick people. Wash hands frequently, as immunosuppression is common.
