Mazetol 100 Tablet contains carbamazepine, an anticonvulsant used to manage focal and generalised seizures in epilepsy by stabilising brain electrical activity. It is also effective in treating trigeminal neuralgia, a chronic facial pain condition.
Carbamazepine works by steadying abnormal electrical activity in the brain and calming overactive nerve signals, which helps control seizures and eases the sharp, shooting facial pain of trigeminal neuralgia.
Take this tablet with food, at the same times each day, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and never change your dose without medical advice.
Do not stop this medicine suddenly, even if you feel well, as abruptly stopping an anti-epileptic medicine can trigger seizures. Tell your doctor immediately if you develop a rash, sore throat, fever, or unusual bruising, as carbamazepine can rarely affect blood counts and, very rarely, cause serious skin reactions.
