"Lorfast Meltab Tablet is used to relieve the symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives). It provides long-lasting relief from sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, and itchy or watery eyes. The melt-in-the-mouth (meltab) formulation dissolves on the tongue without water, making it convenient to take anytime.
It contains loratadine 10mg, a second-generation antihistamine that selectively blocks peripheral H1 histamine receptors without significantly crossing the blood-brain barrier. This provides effective allergy relief with less sedation compared to older antihistamines.
Place the tablet on the tongue and allow it to dissolve fully before swallowing. It can be taken with or without water, with or without food. Take it once daily as prescribed. It is not indicated for asthma or breathing difficulties.
Headache and mild drowsiness may occur and are usually temporary. Tell your doctor about any liver disease or other ongoing medicines before starting, particularly those that affect liver enzymes."
