Levozet M Tablet is used to treat allergic rhinitis, hay fever, chronic urticaria (hives), and allergy-related breathing issues. It contains levocetirizine, an antihistamine, and montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, which together help reduce airway inflammation and block the effects of histamine.
Take the tablet as prescribed by your doctor, with or without food, preferably in the evening. Continue the course for as long as advised, even once your symptoms settle, to keep allergic reactions and airway inflammation under control.
Avoiding known allergy triggers such as dust, pollen, and pet dander, and keeping indoor air clean, can help reduce allergic flare-ups alongside this medicine. Staying well hydrated may also help ease nasal congestion.
Tell your doctor before starting if you have kidney or liver problems, epilepsy, or a history of mental health conditions, as montelukast has rarely been linked to mood and behaviour changes. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or notice unusual mood changes. Montelukast can cause serious mood or behaviour changes; for allergic rhinitis it is generally reserved for people who do not respond to or cannot tolerate alternative treatments.
