Levesam 500 Tablet is used to treat various forms of epilepsy by controlling and preventing seizures. It contains levetiracetam, an antiepileptic medicine.
Levetiracetam works by interfering with the release of specific chemicals in the brain involved in triggering seizures, which steadies abnormal electrical activity and helps prevent both focal and generalised seizures.
Take this tablet at the same times each day, with or without food, exactly as your doctor prescribes, and never change your dose without medical advice.
Do not stop this medicine suddenly, even if you feel well, as abruptly stopping an anti-epileptic medicine can trigger seizures. Tell your doctor if you notice new low mood, irritability, unusual behaviour, or thoughts of self-harm, as levetiracetam has been linked with mood-related effects in some people.
