Levesam Solution 100 ml is used to manage partial-onset seizures.

Uses of Levesam Solution 100 ml are:

• Partial-Onset Seizures: Helps control seizures in patients aged 1 month and above.
• Myoclonic Seizures: Helps reduce jerky muscle movements in juvenile myoclonic epilepsy in patients aged 12 years and above.
• Generalised Tonic-Clonic Seizures: Helps control seizures in idiopathic generalised epilepsy in patients aged 6 years and above.

• Shake the bottle well before use.

• Use a calibrated measuring device to measure the correct dose. A household spoon or cup may not provide an accurate measure.

• This medicine can be taken with or without food, as per your doctor's instructions.

Levesam Oral Solution is taken orally.

Levesam Oral Solution contains Levetiracetam (500mg) which works in the body through the following mechanisms:

• Binding to SV2A: Levetiracetam selectively binds to a protein named synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) present in your brain. This protein plays a role in releasing neurotransmitters from synaptic vesicles within neurons.

• Impeding nerve impulses: By attaching itself to SV2A, Levetiracetam works towards blocking nerve impulses that cause seizures. It slows down excessive nerve activity in the brain.

• Preventing the spread of seizure activity: By stabilising electrical activity in the brain, Levetiracetam helps prevent seizure activity from spreading across different parts of your brain.

• Store Levesam Oral Solution in a tightly closed container at room temperature not exceeding 25°C.

• Keep it away from light and moisture; avoid storing it in the bathroom.

• Ensure the medicine is kept out of reach of children.
